Sensex pares early gains, up 23pts

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 173 points at 14,215. The index has pared early gains and is now up 23 points at 14,065.

Reliance Infrastructure and Tata Steel have surged 2% each to Rs 910 and Rs 489, respectively.

Reliance Communications, Tata Power, HDFC Bank, Reliance and ACC have advanced around 1.5% each to Rs 380, Rs 1,043, Rs 1,318, Rs 2,080 and Rs 614, respectively.

Larsen & Toubro and Jaiprakash Associates are up over 1% each at Rs 2,676 and Rs 137, respectively.

Ranbaxy has shed 1.5% at Rs 351. ONGC and Maruti have slipped 1.3% each to Rs 1,058 and Rs 732, respectively.
