Sensex pares gains; Wipro, ONGC up 3%

The Sensex opened 74 points higher at 9,078, and then touched a high of 9,117. The index has now pared gains and is up 70 points at 9,074.

Tata Motors and Wipro have rallied 3.5% each to Rs 145 and Rs 234, respectively.

Sun Pharma has surged 3% to Rs 1,176. ACC and ONGC have gained 2.7% each at Rs 500 and Rs 638, respectively.

ITC has moved up 2.3% to Rs 175, and HDFC has added 2% to Rs 1,475.

Grasim has advanced nearly 2% to Rs 1,202.

Reliance Communications (RCom) has plunged over 4% to Rs 164. Tata Steel has dropped over 2% to Rs 168.

 

Reliance Infrastructure and Bharti Airtel have slipped 1.3% each to Rs 533 and Rs 639, respectively.
