The Sensex touched a high of 15,637, up 235 points.
The NSE Nifty is at 4,672, up 79 poins.
Mahindra & Mahindra has soared 5.5% to Rs 858. Sterlite has added 2.5% to Rs 662.
Hero Honda, HDFC, ACC and Larsen & Toubro have increased over 2% each to Rs 1,580, Rs 2,436, Rs 786 and Rs 1,544, respectively.
Tata Motors has slipped 2% to Rs 500 and DLF is down 1.5% at Rs 407.
