Sensex steady, breadth fairly +ve; Satyam slips 3%

The Sensex is now up 45 points at 14,087.

Tata Steel has surged 3% to Rs 494. DLF has rallied 2.5% to Rs 437, and ITC has gained 2% at Rs 195.

HDFC has advanced 1.3% to Rs 2,339. Bharti Airtel, Reliance Infrastructure and Sterlite are up over 1% each at Rs 808, Rs 903 and Rs 473, respectively.

Reliance and Tata Power are up nearly 1% each at Rs 2,071 and Rs 1,036, respectively.

Satyam has plunged 2.8% to Rs 360. Maruti and ONGC have slipped over 1% each to Rs 733 and Rs 1,059, respectively.

The market breadth is fairly positive - out of 2,179 stocks traded so far, 1,348 have advanced, 767 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
