Sensex still in red; Realty index sheds 5%

Selling in realty and metal stocks are pulling the market down. The BSE Realty index is down 5% at 3,053 and the metal index has shed over 4% to 10,304. The index is now at 14,096, down 230 points
Hindalco and Sterlite have shed over 5.5% each to Rs 79 and Rs 560, respectively.
Jaiprakash Associates and ICICI Bank have slumped around 5% each to Rs 191 and Rs 692, respectively.
Tata Steel, DLF and ITC have tumbled over 4% each to Rs 385, Rs 310 and Rs 195, respectively.
ACC, Reliance Communications, Larsen & Toubro, HDFC Bank, Reliance Infrastructures and Maruti have dropped 2-4% each.
ONGC has added 1.7% to Rs 1,011.
The market breadth is negative- out of 2,180 shares traded, 1,642 have declined and 485 have advanced so far on the BSE.
