The Sensex is now up 32 points at 10,775. Earlier in the day, the index opened with a positive gap of 134 points at 10,876. The index touched a high of 10,932, and soon tumbled into red to a low of 10,656 - down 276 points from the day's high.
Larsen & Toubro and Tata Motors have surged nearly 4% each to Rs 837 and Rs 231, respectively. Sterlite has soared over 3% to Rs 396.
Jaiprakash Associates has rallied 2.8% to Rs 109. Reliance Infrastructure and DLF have moved up 2.5% each to Rs 634 and Rs 217, respectively.
Tata Steel and Hindalco are up nearly 2% each at Rs 247 and Rs 59, respectively.
ONGC and Hindustan Unilever have shed 2% each at Rs 889 and Rs 236, respectively.
ITC and Mahindra & Mahindra are down over 1% each at Rs 188 and Rs 444, respectively.
The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,182 stocks traded, 1,477 have advanced, 634 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
