The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 303 points at 15,266. The index is now up 349 points at 15,310.
The NSE Nifty is up 84 points at 4,587.
ICICI Bank has soared 4.7% to Rs 726. Maruti has rallied 4.5% to Rs 642.
HDFC and HDFC Bank have surged nearly 4% each to Rs 2,561 and Rs 1,230, respectively.
Tata Motors and BHEL have gained 3.7% each at Rs 424 and Rs 1,835, respectively.
Mahindra & Mahindra has advanced 3.3% to Rs 566. Grasim has added 3% to Rs 2,079.
