Sensex up 440pts; Wipro, Infosys zoom

The Sensex is now up 442 points at 10,417.

Wipro has zoomed 11% to Rs 286. Infosys has soared over 8% to Rs 1,302.

HDFC Bank, TCS and Reliance Communications have surged over 7.5% each to Rs 1,104, Rs 488 and Rs 252, respectively.

ICICI Bank and Hindalco have rallied 7% each to Rs 419 and Rs 69, respectively.

Sterlite and Satyam have moved up 6.7% each to Rs 291 and Rs 284, respectively.

Tata Steel has gained over 6% at Rs 264. ONGC, SBI and ITC are up around 5% each at Rs 817, Rs 1,488 and Rs 167, respectively.

 

Grasim has shed 5.5% at Rs 1,222.

The market breadth is negative - out of 2,455 stocks traded so far, 1,330 have declined, 1,056 have advanced and the rest are unchanged.
