The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 421 points at 10,209. The index touched a high of 10,358, and then slipped to a low of 10,153. The index is now up 489 points at 10,277.
DLF has zoomed 10.5% to Rs 243, and Tata Motors has soared 9.5% to Rs 188.
Reliance Infrastructure has surged over 9% to Rs 498. ICICI Bank has rallied 8.5% to Rs 433.
Hindalco, SBI and Larsen & Toubro have moved up over 7.5% each to Rs 65, Rs 1,194 and Rs 865, respectively.
HDFC has advanced over 6% to Rs 1,872. Maruti has added 5.5% to Rs 596.
The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,094 stocks traded, 1,602 have advanced, 445 have declined and the rest are unchanged.
