Silver futures down 0.5% on global cues

Market analysts said off-loading of positions by speculators despite rebound in the precious metals overseas, attributed fall in silver prices

Silver prices fell by 0.55% to Rs 43,765 per kg in futures trade today even as the precious metals recover in the global market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in March fell l by Rs 242, or 0.55%, to Rs 43,765 per kg in business turnover of 566 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in May declined by Rs 247, or 0.55%, to Rs 44,720 per kg in business volume of 10 lots.

Market analysts said off-loading of positions by speculators despite rebound in the precious metals overseas, attributed fall in silver prices at futures trade here.
 

In the international market, silver traded little changed at $19.40 an ounce in Singapore.
