Traders book profits as metal loses lustre in Singapore

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Silver prices fell by 0.59 per cent to Rs 42,801 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced exposures.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September traded lower by Rs 254, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 42,801 per kg in a business turnover of 44 lots.

Similarly, the white metal for delivery in July declined by Rs 206, or 0.49 per cent, to Rs 42,142 per kg in a business volume of 314 lots.

In the international market, silver traded 0.58 per cent lower at $19.63 an ounce in Singapore.

Market analysts said a weak trend in precious metals in the global markets and profit-booking by speculators led to a fall in silver prices at futures trade here.
