Silver prices fell by 0.76% to Rs 40,703 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed their positions, tracking a weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December fell by Rs 312, or 0.76%, to Rs 40,703 per kg in business turnover of 92 lots.
Similarly, silver for delivery in September lost Rs 250, or 0.62%, to Rs 40,048 per kg in 3,892 lots.

Market analysts said speculators trimmed their positions, driven by a weak global trend mainly kept pressure on silver prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile,silver dropped 0.6% to $18.79 an ounce in Singapore.
