Silver futures down by 0.7% on weak global cues

Amid weakening trend overseas, silver prices fell sharply by Rs 278 at Rs 36,703 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions.
Silver for delivery in December contracts traded lower by Rs 278, or 0.75%, to Rs 36,703 per kg in a business turnover of 826 lots in futures trading at Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX).
On similar lines, the white metal for delivery in March 2016 was trading Rs 260, or 0.69% lower, at Rs 37,453 per kg with a business turnover of ten lots.
In the international market, silver traded 0.7% lower at $15.71 an ounce in Singapore.
