Sugar slips on sluggish demand, ample supply

Sugar prices declined moderately at the Vashi wholesale market here today due to reduced demand from retailers and bulk consumers coupled with higher stocks positions.

Small sugar quality (S-30) eased by Rs 5/10 per quintal to Rs 2,555/2,600 from Monday's closing level of Rs 2,560/ 2,610.

Medium sugar quality (M-30) also fell by Rs 10 per quintal to Rs 2,575/2,640, as against Rs 2,585/2,650 previously.
