Suven Life Sciences surges on securing three product patents

The company has secured three products patents each from Australia, Sri Lanka and South Korea.

Suven Life Sciences has surged 6% to Rs 81.45 after the company announced that it has secured three products patents each from Australia, Sri Lanka and South Korea corresponding to the New Chemical Entities (NCEs) for the treatment of disorders associated with Neurodegenerative diseases.

With these new patents, Suven has a total of 16 granted patents from Australia, 9 granted patents from Sri Lanka and 12 granted patents from South Korea, the company said in a press release.

The company has 12 internally discovered therapeutic drug candidates currently in pre-clinical stage of development targeting conditions such as ADHD, dementia, depression, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease and obesity in addition to developmental candidate SUVN-502 for Alzheimer's disease and Schizophrenia, it added.

The stock opened at Rs 75.80 and touched high of Rs 81.45 on the BSE. A combined 2.61 million shares already changed hands on the counter till 1000 hours against an average sub one million shares that were traded daily in past two weeks.
