The stock has tanked over 4% in trade today post the development. Tata Motors hired Slym was in 2012 to revive flagging sales and market share in the domestic business of the company.

Slym, 51, had attended a board meeting of Tata's Thailand unit in the Thai capital and was staying with his wife in a room on the 22nd floor of the Shangri-La hotel. Hotel staff found his body on Sunday on the fourth floor, which juts out above lower floors, reports suggest.

Back home, most auto, metal and banking stocks are trading weak ahead of the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI’s) review of the Monetary Policy tomorrow.

Kunal Bothra, technical analyst with LKP Securities suggest the key support level for the Nifty (spot) is 6,140. A close below this level could indicate a further selling pressure and unwinding of a lot of long positions, he says.
