Turmeric down over 1% on weak demand

Turmeric futures for May declined by Rs 72, or 1.02%, to Rs 6,964 per quintal in 11,645 lots.     

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), the April contract traded lower by Rs 36, or 0.52%, to Rs 6,852 per quintal in 28,985 lots.

Prices weakened as speculators reduced their positions on falling demand at prevailing higher levels in the spot market.
