Turmeric futures up on export demand

Turmeric prices traded higher by Rs 46 to Rs 7,696 per quintal in futures trading today following some export enquiries.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for July delivery traded higher by Rs 46, or 0.60%, to Rs 7,696 per quintal, with an open interest of 8,835 lots.   

Similarly, the spice for September delivery edged up by Rs 10, or 0.13% to Rs 7,446 per quintal, with a trade volume of 2,760 lots. 

Analysts said some exports enquiries mainly pushed up turmeric futures prices.
