These two were also the mandatory respondents in the second review. In the first round, Hindustan Unilever along with Devi and Falcon were mandatory respondents.
The US commerce department initiated the third review in April and listed 336 Indian companies for the review. In order to avoid the cumbersome process of reviewing all export details of these companies, the department has limited the number to two based on the volume of exports.
The period of review is February 1, 2007, to January 31, 2008. After the second review, Washington had slashed the minimum anti-dumping duty to 1.06 per cent from 7.22 per cent and the country average duty is 10.17 per cent. The final decision based on this review is expected shortly.
