US markets end up; ICICI Bank soars over 14%

US markets surged on Wednesday, following growth data and Fed Reserve's hopeful comments of the recession easing.

The Dow gained 169 points (2%) to 8,186. The Nasdaq surged 38 points (2%) to 1,712.

Indian ADRs were also up. ICICI Bank soared 14.5% to $20.75. Sterlite zoomed over 10.5% to $8.45.

Infosys rallied 6% to $30.32. HDFC Bank and Tata Motors gained 4% each to $76.97 and $7.62, respectively.

Genpact, Tata Communictions and Patni Computers surged 3% each to $9.15, $22.7 and $7.56, respectively.

Wipro and Satyam were the other prominent gainers in the US market.

However, MTNL slumped 2% to $2.82.
