Shares of VA Tech Wabag were trading lower by 5% at Rs 818 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) after the stock turned ex-bonus in the ratio today in the ratio of 1:1.
The stock opened at Rs 845 and touched a low of Rs 790 on the NSE so far. A combined 41,638 shares changed hands on the counter till 0947 hours on the NSE and BSE.
VA Tech Wabag had fixed record date as March 27, 2015 for the purpose of ascertaining the entitlement of the members for the issue of bonus shares in the ratio of 1:1 (one equity share for every one equity share of Rs 2 held in the company) by capitalizing the securities premium reserve account of the company.
Meanwhile, since February 7, post bonus announcement, the stock had outperformed the market by gaining 14% compared with 1.5% fall in the CNX Nifty till yesterday.
