Shares of Welspun Corp were trading higher by 4% to Rs 97, extending their previous day’s 9% rally on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), after the promoter of the construction & engineering firm increased their stake in the company via open market purchase.
On June 25, Krishiraj Trading Ltd, the promoter group company bought 5.67 million shares representing 2.16% stake in the Welspun Corp at an average price of Rs 93.58 per share through NSE and BSE, the bulk deal data shows.
Nippon Investment and Finance Company Pvt Ltd had sold 5 million shares of the company via bulk deals, data shows.
The stock opened at Rs 95.30 and touched a 52-week high of Rs 98.90 on the NSE. Till 0953 hours, a combined 1.92 million shares changed hands on the counter on the NSE and BSE.
