Zinc futures prices today fell 0.32% to Rs 109.80 per kg as speculators reduced positions, amid sluggish domestic demand and weak global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc prices for delivery in July declined by 35 paise, or 0.32%, to Rs 109.80 per kg in business turnover of 185 lots.
Likewise, the metal prices for delivery in August traded lower by 30 paise, or 0.27%, to Rs 111.15 per kg in 34 lots.
Market analysts said besides sluggish domestic demand in the spot market, weak global trend after manufacturing in China, the biggest consumer of metals, weakened, will dampen demand, mainly putting pressure on zinc prices in futures trade.
