Zinc moved down 0.77% to Rs 115.45 per kg in futures market today after speculators trimmed their positions, in tandem with a weak global trend.
At Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in October was trading down by 90 paise, or 0.77%, at Rs 115.45 per kg in a business turnover of 52 lots.
On similar lines, the metal for delivery in September shed 85 paise, or 0.74%, at Rs 114.35 per kg in 1,039 lots.
Marketmen said weakness in copper and other base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) as investors weighed China's economic slowdown and global disruptions to supply ahead of the Federal Reserve's key policy meet mainly influenced the zinc prices.
