Zinc prices traded marginally higher by Rs 0.15, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 100.45 per kg in futures trade today, as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by pick up in demand at spot markets.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, zinc prices for September gained Rs 0.15, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 100.45 per kg, with an open interest of 4,315 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in October-month inched up by Rs 0.10, or 0.10 per cent, to Rs 101.40 per kg, with an open interest of 433 lots.

Marketmen said positions increased by speculators on rising demand in the spot market led to a rise in zinc prices at futures trade.
