Zinc up 0.3% on higher global cues

Zinc for delivery in September contracts edged up by 0.33%

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Zinc prices moved up by 0.36% to Rs 112.35 per kg in futures market today largely in tandem with a firming trend overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in August traded higher by 40 paise, or 0.36%, to Rs 112.35 per kg in business turnover of 2,502 lots.

Similarly, zinc for delivery in September contracts edged up by 30 paise, or 0.33%, to Rs 113.25 per kg in 139 lots.

Market analysts attributed rise in zinc prices at futures trade to a firming trend in the global markets after China's official manufacturing data unexpectedly strengthened, suggesting demand from the world's largest consumer is improving.
