At least 20 people were killed and 40 others suffered injuries after a fire broke out at a railway station in Egypt's capital city Cairo on Wednesday.

"The death toll is expected to rise further following the blaze on Wednesday," Al Jazeera quoted the head of the Cairo Railroad hospital, Mohammed Said as saying.

According to primary information, the fire was triggered by an explosion of a fuel tank on a speeding train that was heading into the Ramses station in downtown Cairo.
