3 Sri Lankan refugees arrested in Rameswaram
The Tamil Nadu police arrested three Sri Lankan refugees in Rameswaram , while they were making an attempt to return to Sri Lanka illegally.
The refugees, who were staying in India, were arrested by the Coastal Police late night on Friday.

There are around two lakhs Sri Lankan refugees in India following the outbreak of violence in the country. Recently, the Indian government has been encouraging them to return.
According to various reports, around 3,000 refugees have returned since 2015.
