8 dead in China gas leak

A major gas leak at an iron factory in south China's Guangdong Province claimed eight lives, the local authorities said on Monday.

According to the city government, The incident took place in the wee hours of Monday at Songshan iron factory in Shaoguan city.

Ten people were hospitalised for inhaling poisonous smoke. However, they are now out of danger, the Xinhua reported.

The cause of the accident is yet to be known and an investigation for the same is underway.
