Aadhaar mandatory for LPG subsidy after November

The government has made Aadhaar mandatory for availing LPG gas subsidies after November. As per the official sources, the Petroleum Ministry has asked Oil marketing companies to facilitate enrolments of Aadhaar of the consumers to avail the subsidy.

Currently, the government gives 12 cylinders at subsidised rates per household in a year. The subsidy on every cylinder is transferred directly into bank accounts of individuals.
