The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday hit out at the criticism meted out by the Congress over the talks held between People's Conference leader Sajjad Lone and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, adding that said that all political parties across the spectrum should welcome the meeting.

"Sajjad Lone met the Prime Minister in regards to the development of the Kashmir Valley. This is a development that everybody should welcome. There are some elements in Pakistan who want to join with Pakistan and are giving credence to a separatist mentality. If people are leaving such ideologies and are working towards the development of Kashmir, then it is a good thing," BJP general secretary Ram Madhav told ANI.Does the Congress want Kashmiris to meet the leader in Islamabad instead? All parties, the Congress included, should be happy that leaders from the Valley are coming to New Delhi to solve their problems," he added.arlier today, Lone met with the Prime Minister, triggering speculations that the former separatist leader might join hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ahead of the assembly polls in the state.he assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in five phases - on November 25, December 2, December 9, December 14 and December 20. The counting of votes will be held on December 23.
