Aam Aadmi Party leader Somnath Bharti on Wednesday said that the allegations of domestic violence levelled by his wife Lipika Mitra are 'baseless and inconceivable'.
Bharti took to twitter to share his thoughts.
"I m in kerala 4 party work n shocked 2 learn 4m TV abt wife's complaint. Deeply pained 2 know that my wife hs gone public w family matter," he posted.
"Allegations of domestic violence if any are baseless n inconceivable. I love my wife n my little children. I urge media 2 respect my privacy," he added.
Earlier in the day, the Delhi Commission for Women served notice to Bharti after his wife Lipika Mitra accused him of domestic violence.
Lipika has alleged that she has been facing violence at the hands of Bharti since 2010 and has said that she wants a separation in order to live with her children 'with dignity'.
