ANI New Delhi

The War veterans protesting against the non-implementation of the one-rank-one-pension (OROP) scheme, on Thursday accused the government of misinforming the country of this country on the issue.

Group Captain (Retired) V.K Gandhi said that the veterans never asked for monthly increments.

"These are not demands, stop using that word, nor is it a bonanza," said Colonel Anil Kaul.

"We are seeking a periodic pension revision in OROP," he added.

The OROP scheme has been a long-standing demand of nearly three million ex-servicemen and war widows in the country.

It seeks to ensure that a uniform pension is paid to defence personnel, who retire at the same rank with the same length of service irrespective of their date of retirement.
