Assam: Four hardcore KLO militants nabbed in Kokrajhar

The security forces on Tuesday apprehended four hardcore terrorists of Kamtapur Liberation Organisation (KLO) from in Assam's Kokrajhar District.

In a joint operation by the Army and the local police, four KLO members, including two area commanders, were nabbed from village Kalipukhri.

Four Pistols, three hand grenades, few rounds ammunitions, some incriminating documents and demand notes of KLO were also recovered from the terrorists.

The apprehended terrorists include KLO's Area Commander of Kokrajhar District, Mridul Roy, and deputy commander Dhananjay Roy. The other two have been identified as - Kanak Roy and Konu Jeet Roy.

Defence PRO's official statement said that Mridul and Dhananjay received training inMjyanmar, while Kanak and Konu were trained locally.

 

Army has been carrying out sustained operations in the Area to ensure that these terrorist organizations do not get an opportunity to recoup.
