Baby declared dead wakes before being cremated

A baby, who was declared dead, was almost cremated alive in China.

The parents had agreed to end his treatment at Anhui Provincial Children's Hospital and a death certificate was also issued before the baby was sent to undertakers, the South China Morning Post reported.

The child, who was less than a month old, was sent back to the hospital when they heard him crying at the funeral home.

A hospital worker said that because the baby still had life signs, they continued to give him transfusion to maintain his life for humanitarian reasons.

Following the incident, a doctor was suspended, a nursing worker was fired and an investigation was launched.
