A local court in Badaun district of In Uttar Pradesh has reserved its order on the CBI closure report in the death of two teenage cousins whose bodies were found hanging in an orchard in May last year.
Earlier in November last year, the CBI had termed the death of the two girls in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh as suicide, adding that there was no evidence of murder or sexual assault in the case.
The incident, in which two Dalit teenagers were found hanging from a mango tree in their village on May 28, had shocked the nation.
The girls had gone to relieve themselves in nearby fields on the night of the incident. When they didn't return, the families alerted the police but they refused to follow up.
