Broad rested from first two ODIs against Oz

England bowler Stuart Broad has reportedly been rested for the first two matches of the one-day international series against Australia, which starts in Melbourne on Sunday.

Broad has been the beleaguered tourists' best bowler in the recent Ashes series, which Australia won 5-0.

According to Sport24, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) said that Broad, who took a creditable 21 wickets in the five Tests, would sit out the matches in Melbourne and Brisbane.

With the retirement of Graeme Swann and pace spearhead James Anderson having flown home, Broad's absence from the first two of five one-dayers means England will field an inexperienced bowling attack, the report added.
