Canada police thwarts ' Halifax mass shooting plot'

Canadian police has reportedly thwarted plans to carry out a mass shooting in the Halifax area on Saturday.
While three suspects were nabbed by the police, a fourth suspect shot himself dead after police surrounded his home, reported the BBC.
Police said that at least two suspects intended to go to a public place and open fire to kill citizens and then themselves.
While describing those involved in the planning as a "a group of murderous misfits," Justice Minister Peter MacKay said that the attack could have been "devastating" and mass casualties would have been a real possibility.
He however, added that the attack did not appear to be "culturally motivated" and hence, not linked to terrorism.
