Chennai to get no respite as rainfall likely to continue

Rainfall is likely to continue for about a week, but situation critical for the next 48 hours, said IMD

The people of Chennai seem to get no respite from the heavy downpour as the rainfall is expected to continue till next few days.

Briefing the media over the weather condition in the coastal city, Director General of Indian Metrological Department (IMD), L S Rathore said "The rainfall is likely to continue for about a week, but situation critical for the next 48 hours."

"There is a possibility of the situation staying the way it is for the next three days," he added.
