CPI dismisses 'absurd' demands of Rajasthan governor

Communist Party of India on Wednesday dismissed Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh's demand that the word 'adhinayak' be dropped from the national anthem, terming it 'absurd'.

"It is an absurd demand. The national anthem was written by Rabindranath Tagore, and nobody has the right to change it," CPI national secretary D Raja said.
