After England won the thrilling first test at Lord's, New Zealand skipper Brendon McCullum said they did everything needed to win.

Chasing the target of 345 runs, New Zealand were bowled out for 220 on the last day of the test match.

However, the Kiwi skipper said they would continue their 'ultra-attacking style' cricket despite Lord's defeat.

McCullum, mixing disappointment with pride, said that nothing would change in their approach when they would face the home team at Headingley for a series-leveling victory, stuff.co.nz has reported.

He insisted that the defeat did hurt him a lot, but at the same time there was an element of pride that they would continue their style of cricket, which gave them their greatest chance of a victory against England.
