Ex-Barca striker Lineker says Bale faces 'tough' mental test to perform at Madrid

Former Spurs and Barcelona striker Gary Lineker has suggested that Welsh striker Gareth Bale must put his heart and soul into his world-record Real Madrid transfer to perform at the La Liga club.

According to the BBC, Lineker expressed that Bale's last season performance had proved that he had it all and now the question was whether he had the mental strength to cope with the spotlight in Spain.

However, the former footballer said that if Messi and Ronaldo came on the market now, they would be worth more than Bale.

Lineker, who played for Barca between 1986-1989, feels that learning the language and immersing himself in the culture will be key to Bale's chances of succeeding in La Liga, the report said.
