Facebook is reportedly planning to come out with more standalone mobile apps like Facebook Messenger and Instagram.

During its fourth quarter earnings call, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that while the while the core business growth is going to come from the main app that exists, the company would also start building new apps.

According to Mashable, the social networking giant had introduced its standalone Messenger app in 2011 Facebook CFO David Ebersman revealed that Messenger's users grew 70 percent in the three-month period.

Facebook has also launched its much-anticipated 'Paper' app for iOS, which is a blend of the News Feed and a news reader, giving it a social newspaper appearance and functionality.
