Fire breaks out in oil factory in Kanpur

A massive fire broke out at an oil factory in Kanpur injuring four people.

The fire broke out at Vaibhav Oil Mill, which is situated on Delhi Kanpur Highway in Rania Industrial Area at 12.45 pm.

Firefighters rushed to the site but the nearby Delhi-Kanpur highway was closed due to the danger of more oil tanks exploding.

"The Vaibhav Oil Mill has caught fire. The fire broke out at 12.45pm. The Delhi-Kanpur Highway has been closed as it is an oil mill and already two tankers have burst and there is a possibility of more tankers bursting as the fire continues. There is no casualty," said fire officer AshokPandey.

 

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. No loss of life has been reported so far.

"Everyone ran out when the fire broke out," said eyewitness, Jitendra.
