Four MI17V5 choppers from Ahmedabad, and one each from Jodhpur and Phalodi have been called in for relief work in Banaskantha, in the wake of heavy rains leading to a flood like situation in the state.
On Thursday, six more National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams, an Engineer Task Force and a medical team were requisitioned in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
The NDRF had earlier mobilized 21 search and rescue teams to the flood affected areas to assist the respective state administration in rescue and relief works.
Fifteen search and rescue teams of NDRF consisting of 510 trained responders along with 57 rubber boats have been deployed at various flood affected parts of Gujarat, like Tehsil -Suigam, Tehsil Deesa, Hahara, Banaskantha, Bhuj, Ahmedabad.
So far, NDRF has evacuated 283 persons (including 111 persons at Village Varun and 87 persons at Village Chatara, Distt Banaskantha) from affected areas to safer place.
