Filmmaker Gareth Edwards, who directed the 2014 hit 'Godzilla', will not be directing 'Godzilla 2' following an amicable split with Warner Bros. and Legendary.
According to a source, Edwards's exit comes three days after Warner Bros shifted the release date of 'Godzilla 2' from June 8, 2018 to March 22, 2019, Channel 24 reports.
It is being said that a director's hunt is going on for the forthcoming flick.
The 2014 reboot, which was the 30th Godzilla film to be made, starred Bryan Cranston, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen and Aaron Taylor-Johnson.
Meanwhile, 68-year-old Edwards has just wrapped up the shooting of 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story', which will hit the screens in December this year.
