After delivering immersive content for over six years, Google is reportedly shutting down its Spotlight Stories VR film studio.

With the shutdown, Spotlight Stories employees will be given a chance to look for new positions within the company, Variety reports.

Spotlight Stories started as a group within Motorola and later became a part of Google's Advanced Technologies and Products (ATAP) group. The division produced a number of 360-degree videos and VR experiences for phones, screens, and headsets.

Some of the noted works include "Pearl" which was nominated for an Academy Award. Recently, Spotlight Stories released "Age of Sail", an animated short film directed by Oscar-winning animator John Kahrs.
