Approximately 10,000 words long, the e-books are basically designed for tablets, mobile and other devices and as a supplement to the original Harry Potter books that have sold more than 450 million copies worldwide.
Susan Jurevics, the chief executive of Pottermore, in a statement said, "J.K. Rowling's writing in these collections reveals intricate details of her characters' lives, their histories, as well as her inspiration."
The e-books will be available on the Pottermore website as well as via digital booksellers.
