Lasting peace between Pakistan and India can only be achieved through solving the Kashmir issue," said Pakistan's Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif.

Addressing a press conference in Sialkot on Sunday Asif said, "Lasting peace can only be attained through solving the Kashmir issue."

The Express Tribune further quoted him, as saying, "Pakistan will help people of Kashmir to achieve their right to hold a referendum, which has also been recognised by the United Nations and the global community."

"Peace between the two countries is intertwined with Kashmir dispute and in light of the UN agreement, people of Kashmir want the right to vote for self determination," he added.
