Indian skipper Virat Kohli has been "really impressed" by Prime Minister Narendra Modi's demonetisation drive aimed at curbing black money and corruption, describing it as the "greatest move" he had seen so far in the Indian politics.

"It's the greatest move that I have seen in the Indian politics by far; hands down, really impressed," Kohli said on the eve of the second Test here in Visakhapatnam.

Sharing an incident as to how he forgot that old notes were no longer in use, Kohli said, ""I was actually going to pay my hotel bills in Rajkot and I was taking out the old money and I forgot that it isn't of any use anymore."

The Prime Minister, in a televised address to the nation, had declared that high denomination notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 will no longer be legal tender from November 8-9 midnight.

He had said the government has declared a "decisive war" against black money and corruption.
